Iowa’s Biggest Book Sale (IBBS) is a nonprofit dedicated to literacy, sustainability, and community impact.

Through our large-scale, semi-annual book sales, we give tens of thousands of donated books a second life—making them affordable for readers of all ages while keeping usable materials out of landfills.

Items that aren’t sold are redistributed through our Sustainability Program to local schools, daycares, nursing homes, correctional facilities, and community organizations. What can’t be reused is responsibly recycled.

Powered by volunteers and supported by our community, every book donated or purchased helps expand access to reading, reduce waste, and strengthen literacy across Iowa.
